Mount Royal is closed for pedestrians, so plan around that
Yes, they do. Just no Amex.
To have a table it's a coin toss: a question of luck ...
Nope they don't have poutine. It's a bakery. They do have the best kouign amann i've ever tasted.
You should call the pastry shop directly.
sadly no
Absolutely amazing. We got the kouign amann without knowing what it was, and since it was in the store name, of course we would try it. What followed was myself being close to tears as it was an amazing mouthful experience. We were really lucky since it cam right out of the oven, so it was still amazingly soft and warm in the middle. Very delicious, will definitely recommend!
Best ham and cheese croissant.coffee Kouign amann to die for🙌
Amazing kouign amann pastry. I’m not even a big fan of pastries but this literally blows my mind.
One of the best croissants in town, I got it and made a sandwich with turkey breast and avocado at home, so good, the crispness of that croissant 😍
Not a lot of place to sit, but very worth it! Amazing pastries and coffee, for cheap. One of my favourite places in Montreal!
Cute, local bakery with really great prices. You must eat the kouign amann warm, it’s an out of this world experience. Bought a full cake for a birthday and it was a hit!
The Kouign Amann is the best pastry I’ve ever had! I love how everything is served as it is made. Everything is so fresh and the owner and the staff are so friendly and nice. The Croissants are also very well made. I love the homely atmosphere. I will definitely be back again.
I often buy kouign amann and almonds croissants is very delicious
Nice, friendly and warm counter service, the kouign amann was absolutely spectacular. It wasn’t overly sweet, had a great caramel chewy crust and soft buttery layers. We also ordered a regular and a chocolate croissant. The croissants weren’t special, fairly average. Unfortunately the chocolate croissant contained very little chocolate and the top layer tasted a little burned. We simply peeled away the top layer and enjoyed the rest. The quiche and other products looks great, we look forward in visiting again to try out other items!
Best place ever to taste the best croissant ever!!😊
You have to try the Kouign Amann, it is (as I have been told) a very old european style sweet, it is OH SO Good. They also make (in my opinion) the best croissants in Montreal. The only risk visiting this place is that you may become addicted. Their prices are great and their staff is so friendly too.
Amazing Kouign Amann.as expected. The almond croissants are tasty too.
Absolutely wonderful. Not a huge selection but what they make is perfection. Only three small tables so seating can be hit or miss but I was able to get a seat both times I went.
Delicious example of the traditional Kouign Amann pastry. If you haven't have Kouign Amann before, get ready for one of the best pastries ever! It is super flaky and buttery, and has the perfect amount of crispness and sweetness. It really is a perfection in pastry making. Do yourself a favour and come down to try one of these out, you won't be disappointed.
Anglophone visiting from Ontario. Spent better part of a week in Quebec. This was my favourite place hands down. Do not miss it if you are visiting. More essential to see and eat than any poutine or bagels. Outstanding food. All the staff was super nice. It is tiny, so you might not be able to stay to eat.
Hands down the best croissant that I have ever tried. Also, they create such delectable kouign amann. They have a good selection of quiches which do not disappoint. 10/10 everytime I go
Best Kouign Amann I've had in North America. Lovely croissants as well.
So delicious. Go there. Go now. Buy a whole kouign amann to enjoy with friends (or to eat by yourself!)
Small little shop that produces amazing pastries. The Kouign Amann was the best pastry I had ever eaten period . Slightly warm, moist, but with a slightly crunchy top and not too sweet. Mouth watering just describing it. I will visit again before leaving this area. Amazing.
Have been to this cafe atleast three times now (in a span of one month), and I live every bit of it. Be the coffee, the croissants or the kouign amann (if you haven't tried Kouign Amann yet, you must then!!) everything is so super delicious! Plus the staff is so accommodating and friendly. I am just a beginner in French, and when I tried to say my order in whatever French I knew, they understood so well. For me this pretty, little warm cafe is 5+ 🌟 !! :)
First time to have Kouign-Amann and I love it. The golden shinning crusty looks very tempting, a little bit sweet and a little bit sticky. Inside are multiple layers made with flour and butter. The texture is very buttery and soft. I wish I had a huge stomach so that I can have fresh almond croissant, regular croissant, brioche, fruit tart, quince and Kouign-Amann all at the same time. Lol~ I am just being greedy. I did get two almond croissants to go though and hope they are still fresh and taste good tomorrow morning;) coffee au lait is also good. I love their simple and rustic decoration, which reminded me grandma’s house in the countryside;)
Sometimes you eat food that changes your world. This place is where you find such food. The croissants are the best I've ever had- both in taste and in texture. To make it even better, the price is incredible for the quality of food. Thank you for destroying my life, for no other croissant will ever taste good to me.
Product/Service: 5/5Pastries are so delicious. First thing to come back to when I come back to Montreal. I am dreaming about their croissants and pastries. The kouign amann is sometimes not available when early in the day so we missed it, but we'll be back.Location: 5/5Central and trendy location.Price: 5/5Very reasonable.Atmosphere: 4/5Typical bakery but authentic.
The Kouign Amann was so good! Paired with the fresh raspberry juice, it was the perfect combo. The only reason for the 4 stars is because we came too late and almost everything was gone by then. They weren't even soon to close! Just wish I ordered two Kouign amann's before they sold out : (
Popular pastry shop serving up traditional kouign amann, turnovers, croissants and quiches. The shop itself has a old time feel, and the servers are the nicest one could ask. The kouign amann, is baked in a large pan, and cut into pie shaped wedges. It has a softer and chewy texture compared to the modern style. The turnover was divine with its crackly crust, and sweet apple filling. Delicious!!!
Best almond croissants in the world. Perfectly baked and assembled. Must try. :)
Warm, buttery, light and delightful: that's how I would describe the pastries here. I was greeted pleasantly and the service was quick. The croissant here was far more delicious than anything I have ever tasted in New York City. My family and I got here right after it opened at 7:00am and we had no trouble finding a seat for the three of us. My wife enjoyed her coffee from here as well. I would definitely recommend this bakery.
Cosy place, just the kind of bakery that I like. The service was excellent, and the pastries too !!
Delicious kouign Amann pie and the best croissants in town. Worth stopping in for a baked treat. There's very limited seating so better off taking out on the go
Loved all the pastries here! The best mushroom/spinach quiche ever! It was so tender & moist.
This is a small patisserie, but really cute and cozy and it's totally worth to go inside and try their croissants and delicious sandwiches. It's a great place to have a coffee, but since it's small, sometimes it's difficult to find a place to sit, however if you do find, you will feel like in coffee shop in Paris with a great view from Mont-Royal Ave. This place if few minutes walking distance from metro Mont-Royal.
Must try little bakery, delicious food at a very reasonable price. The pastries are absolutely amazing. I recommend the kouign amann, very buttery! Keep in mind they are closed on the odd day or weekend during summer or winter during the holidays
Clean, fresh products, can improve by using fresher blueberries for their tartelette. Really enjoyed everything else that I had.
One of the best places in Montreal. I liked it better pre renovation though. Very authentic and delicious.
Had a chocolate croissant and a ham & cheese croissant. It was top notch ... all you taste is butter mmmmmm
Amazing pastries and fair prices. Croissants were light, fluffy and flaky, perfectly crispy on the bottom. The quiche had a great crust, full of ingredients and the egg was done just right. Moist not overdone at all.
I tried their specialty the Kouign Amann and its as good as others have said. I didn't even look at the price since I knew I had to try it (I even had saved a YouTube video on it years ago in case I ever went back to France - not knowing at the time it was in Montreal too). Anyway, the amazing thing is it's only $2.50 a slice including tax! WOW! I was shocked. In Toronto they would charge at least $4.50 a slice plus tax (so double). Even mediocre baked goods at Tim Hortons cost more than $2.50. So if in Montreal, definitely search them out and get a few slices (or even a whole one for $25 if you have a family or are having a dinner party. People will freak out and say "Where did you get this?"
Found this place by accident walking past. Food is incredible! Especially they're specialty kouign amann. Not to be missed, a one of a kind experience.
If you visit Montreal, you have to come here and eat the kouign-amann. It’s unlike anything you’ve ever had! We treated ourselves after a hike up Mont Royal on a snowy fall day. Absolutely amazing end to our day in the Plateau.
This is the best patisserie in all of montreal. The quiche is phenomenal, crispy, savory, and flavorful. The tartes are fruity and dense. The blueberry one is sweet and airy whilst the cranberry one is tart with a hint of almond. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and always excited to answer questions. A must stop if you're headed to the mountain.
The kouign-amann from here is the best pasty I've ever had in my life. The almond croissants are very delicious too
Small location but the pastries are delicious, and was recommended by a local-downtown. The brioche, quiche and specialties are full and gently sweet.
OMG, these pastries were amazing. Honesty better than the patisserie I visited every morning on my last trip to Paris (sorry France!). The quality and freshness was unmistakable. You can see the bakery in the back buzzing with happy activity. Try the Kouign Amann (the light brown circle cake); it’s a flaky, soft delicious sugar cake. We also had the almost croissant (the meal was INSANE), the chocolate croissant (dreams), the quiche Lorraine (warmed up yummy), apple pastry (filled with stewed apple paste), raisin pastry (plump golden raisins were unreal), and the cafe au lait. Had to roll myself out of there by the end but it was worth it!
Tiny & cute local bakery. The almond croissants are to die for
Small bakery serving legit pastries including delicious croissants, their signature Kouign-Amann (by the slice), coffee and more. Tip: Order the Croque (with ham and cheese). Amazing! Credit card accepted over $5
A friend brought me here and wow those pastries are good
Definitely try the Kouign Amann, you will not regret it. It is the specialty here and it is incredibly delicious and always worth the wait. They also accept card if you make a purchase of more than $5, which is really nice
The best pie and cake I ever had in Montreal!Feel a little bit sad that we can not dine-in or it will be great.Overall, I would like to go back and eat thousands of times.🤤
In Breton language Kouign-amann means butter cake, although I think it really means a slice of heaven. When you taste this French (Breton to be precise) classic pastry you enjoy in a simple bite a cake that is warm, flaky, fluffy, buttery, cheesey and sweet at the same time. A place to visit and revisit all four Seasons.
I visited there after 4pm. They had many plain croissants still but not other kinds (almond and cheese). I was pretty happy to get them as well as chocolate danishes. Croissants was simply tasty with butter flavour. I could eat more since it was not too much. But I and my partner liked the chocolate ones more. Good pastries.
